white iche in my reef

I am proud to say that this is my very 1st posting on Reef Central!!! :D

I have a 40 gallon cube reef which owns me! As an artist I naturally went with a bonsai-tree, minimalistic aqua-scaping design when placing my rocks; creating a more natural look, and allowing more flow. The reef is just over 2 yrs old with only a 250watt MH Viper hang-on, and a simple Eishoppes protein skimmer to do the dirty work.
Tank is sooo simple to run I can leave for a week at a time in the care of my "un-educated" friends to do water t-off's and minimal feeding without a single worry!!! :)
Happy lifeforms include mated pair of osilaris clowns, Red reef lobster, 2 cleaner shrimp, purple tip acro, purple crocea clam, tons of blue clove polyps, zoas, HUGE wall hammer coral, pipe organs that touch the surface to name only a few.

--------The question I have is that I seem to have a white iche problem. I only have the problem when I introduce a new fish! The clowns being hardy, get iche,...but it goes away in a week. The new fish dies, and I never see a single spot of iche for over 6 months!!! As soon as I add a new fish,...BOOM!!!! The evil white plague is back with avengence!

What can I do???? Take the clowns out into the hospital tank for a longer period? What is the resting cycle of (dormant) iche? PLEASE HELP!!!

Darin.
