White Macro Algae?

This white looking algae is growing my sump with the calupa and chaeto. Is it good bad or ugly? Should I let it keep growing?

I don't see the harm either way if its being contained to your sump.. Not sure what species it is.. What is the texture like, could it be a sponge of some sort?

Sexual?

Sexual?

It looks to me as if the macro has partially gone sexual. Did white sap ooze from macro? What species of feather Caulerpa is in your sump? Fast growing Caulerpa can go sexual for several reasons. In my observations, the most prevalent reason for macro to go sexual is when photosynthic intensities are high with fast growth of macro depleting nutrients resulting in reduced nutrients to fuel fast growth.
How long is your photo period in the sump?

It actually did feel like a sponge. Here is a picture i rotated correctly. I took this piece out of sump to get a get picture of it. Photo period in sump is about 11 PM to 8 AM.

I found something similar in my DT. Using a magnifying glass, I spotted tubes that make me think it's a sponge as well. Keep it!
