White sand

Whats the best way to get my sand very white and clean looking!!! It has alot of stuff collecting on it do you think more flow would help???

I siphon the top layer of sand out everytime i do a water change. This of course means adding more sand eventually, which is usually every 3-4 months or so.

I hover a small hose over the top of the sand to siphon off any detrius. With practice, you can suck up very little sand.
