White spot

Hi All! I have problem with white spots on my yellow and blue tangs. I can see the spots on their fins and body too. I think my water is carrying the parasites cos previously two healthy tangs died after two weeks of introduction. They continue to eat as greedily as usual but just that they loss weight easily and died.
How can I treat the water without harming my LPS and soft corals? My tank is 4ftx2ftx2ft.
At the moment I'm feeding my fishes with variety of food soaked with garlic and do water tests every 3 to 4 days.
Previously I do have problem with nitrates and phosphate. But since the introduction of Rowaphos and Seachem anti Nitrates media,I manage to get them under control.Any kind of advise is welcome.

There is no effective or proven method to directly treat ich in a reef tank.

Whatever your do, do NOT buy/use any of the so-called "reef-safe" medications. I've tried pretty much every single one of those products on the market and the only effect I got was a big hole in my wallet.

You can move all of your fish and some of the live rock to a QT and dose copper (I prefer Seachem's Cupramine) or do hyposalinity for 4wks (I've found 2wks to be insufficient). Then leave the main display fishless for 8 to 10wks. If there are no fish to host the parasite, they will eventually die.

The other alternative is to move all of the corals, inverts and most of the LR to another tank, then do hyposalinity directly in your display.

There are no short-cuts with ich and reefs.

Thanks oasis and limitdown. After feeding them with food soaked with garlic, I see less spots on their bodies. Will the tangs survive eventually? Its too much work to follow limitdown's suggestion but I agree there's no short cuts. Must find time over the weekend. By then I hope my fishes still survive. Thanks again.

if you cant remove the fish from the reef aquarium , your next best and only 3 options i know of to ensure they survive is the following

1. Boost their immune system:garlic and probiotic remedies added to food(beta -glucan)
2. UV and ozone use on your water to reduce parasites
3. maintenance of excellent water quality and numerous water changes to boost immune system and reduce population of parasites in the water

these 3 work better imo than most so called reef "safe" medications on the market
