White Spots on Lion Fish

We checked out a new local fish store yesterday and it looked like the stock was healthy, but they had a lion fish with small white spots up its side, smaller than a pin head. There were several on the dorsal fin as well. My more experienced neighbor was with me but didn't know if this was normal or a disease. Anyone have any insights into this?
