White spots on yellow tang.

My yellow tank has 3 white spots on its right fin. It doesn't look like ich its larger than say salt. Its soft looking. It doesn't appear to be getting worse and the fish is eating / looks great. Should I QT him / medicate with copper? Or wait and see? As I said he is eating and acting normally.

A picture would help.

Might be lympho which is a viral disease that in the advance stages looks a bit like warts or cauliflower .. in its early stages its often mistaken for a quasi large form of ich. This comes up pretty often on this forum an there are good links that unfortunately I don't have handy .. no doubt a search of threads within the last 7 days will reveal posts where that/those links are handy.

If its lympho the good news is that its not considered fatal unless it gets into the gill ... the bad news is that's is a virus and there's no legit med out there that cures it. The best news is that lympho often goes away on its own .. just keep the water conditions good and feed the fish a nutritional diet .. the fish's own immune system is the only known cure.

I'd love to post a picture.. What's the command to make a yellow tang stay still with his right side to the camera close enough to get a picture? lol I hope your right Kevin. Like I said he looks healthy and he's eating. I'll try and get a pic tonight.
