White Tips on 2 of my Acros

I have 2 frags that looks like their tips are white, almost bleached out...like where growth had been recently. The rest of the coral is fine. I was wandering if this may be caused by high calcium or other water parameter issue? Dis anyone have this happen to their coral...? Did the coral do ok after this episode?

It's hard to say with out pictures and water parameters. What you think is a problem could just be new growth?

there arent any polyps on there though. I v been keeping Acros for awhile. I have been starting to drip Kalk the last month or so I am thinking its contributed to that.....

ok, i just cleaned out my 5 gal bucket i was dripping. I havent cleaned or emtied its since I starting dripping last month. At the bottom there was a lot of Kalkwasser.....like a ton. What I have been doing is just adding Kalkwsser each time my water runs out, but it seems like it settles at the bottom alot. I have a feeling I was doising too much Kalk

You don't want to add the kalk the settles out to your tank. You just want to add the liquid calcium hydroxide. You just make sure you are replenishing you evaporation by dripping the kalk and you should be ok. Just check your ca and alk once in a while to make sure they are stable.

Thnks Don, Do you think everything will be ok with the tank? RIght now I have a brand new 5 gal bucket. I havent added Kalk just yet. I have a feeling some type of precipitate was building up on the coral.....the corals seem fine except at the area where they grow. The rest of the colony looks perfectly normal. I just want to make sure that I get everything back on track...Have you heard of this before...or anybody else?
