I bought a four peppermint shrimp 2 weeks ago and the have not been seen since. All perameters test good at home and at LFS. The only thing I can think is that a fish ate them. My stock list is:

GSM clown -- pair
purple sided(blue spot) fairy wrasse
sailfin tang
med. BTA

Who is the most likely to have eaten the shrimp?

If they were very tiny I would put a small odds on the wrasse, but very small odds indeed.

Many ornamental shrimp are excellent at hiding and may be in the rock work somewhere.
If they have passed, then I would believe it may have been from the acclimation process.

Shrimp can be very hardy once acclimated, however during the initial introduction they often shock due to salinity or temperature changes.

IME peppermint are one of the most likely to hide during the day. I had a pair of Gold Banded shrimp that were more commonly seen than my peppermints.

Look in at night, with a dim light. Make sure your eyes have adjusted to the dark. They are probably walking around in there somewhere.

When I introduced a couple od blood shrimps, I didn't see the bright red little beggars for days, eventually caught an odd glimpse or two after a week. Couple of months on and they are out and about quite a bit.

It could just be that they are shy and hiding still. Do you have a lot of rock where they could hole-out ?

HI

In my last tank (250 gal) I had two peppermints in for 15 months, did not see them once, only as I took the tank apart they showed up.
I wouldn't worry too much.
