Who had the solar tubes

I remember someone in belleville was using solar tubes . How do you like them and do you need to add any other lighting to them to work on your tank?

I have a 22" tube in the middle of my 6' tank with two 250watt 10Ks in Lumenarc reflectors. During a sunny day the tube is just as bright as the 250s the problem is, is that during the winter we really don't have many sunny days. I will try to get some pics up. I have mainly leathers under the tube but I alos have my 2 clams on the outskirts of it as well. The clams do open up with just the sunlight even on cloudy days. I have my MH lights come on about 2pm and go off at about 9pm. so the clams get light about 12 hours from both the tubes and the MH. The only thing I don't like is that at night with just the MH on there is a shadow in the middle of the tank. (See gallery) I am thinking about putting a 2' VHO in the middle just for viewing at night. Anyone is welcome to come by during the day to view it! I would pick a sunny one thought. :)
