who has a 360 degrees viewing tank say in the form of a cube or a cylinder, with the plumbing in the middle of the tank.
thinking of setting up a nano like this

(when i say plumbing in the middle of the tank i just mean overflow and return)

no one?
here's a little design i threw together.

How big are you planning on going with it? Dimensions?

I have been kicking around the idea of making one for a bit and might go ahead and do it.

Would make the tank myself figuring that it would be about 10-12" square.

My fish only tank is just like your sketch. I don't have a photo of it on my phone so I will upload a photo for you when I get to a computer later today

thanks shell.
i was thinking of having it as a nano so was thinking of doing 60cm by 60cm by 40/35cm give it a bit of a widescreen look.

the overflow tube in the middle would need 2 drains and 1 return running through it so i would have to drill 2 or 3 holes in the middle of the tank.

was thinking i could cover the oveflow tube in a cement or whatever you use to make dryrock to try and make it look like a rock.

also thinking if i can attach powerheads to the oveflow and put the electrical wiring down through the drain pipe?

Hello,

I think this is to space consuming in a small tank/nano - leaving not enough space for a considerable reefbuild and place for corals....

Markus

I guess mine in not exactly what you are looking for as it is bigger - 150g and retangular but anyhow it give you an idea. All plumbing is in the middle 2 returns and 1 drain. These photos were taken at varies stages and the aquascaping looks differnt now. I don't have any power heads only the returns angled to the water top.

My husband custom built the stand and leemar built the tank.

i know exactly what you mean the tank would be more like two 17gallon tanks rather than one 38gallon tank.
it would take some carefull aquascaping to pull it off right but alo depends on how small i can get away with having the overflow.

I've read several threads on the exact same thing in this forum. There is one that I specifically remember. It was a large tank, like 300 gals. Unfortunately, I can't find it right now. Anyhoo, he had a central tower just like your design, covered in foam rock and real rock. Drains and returns all came from this tower. I believe he had powerheads on some walls, but not sure.

shells thats a really nice tank!!!!!! that stands something special too.
alos like the reef tank i can see in the first picture

thanks, i'll have to have a look for that

i was just thinking instead of drilling two holes in the middle of the tank (drain and return)
is it possible to get 1 bulkhead which has two pipe connectors on it?
