Who here is using the SMS cell phone part?

I wanted to find out if it worth the price. is a different way to connect to the controller wireless from my phone?

I have it and love the unit.
I do think it's a valuable equipment. Very rarely the SMS sent are NOT received by my phone.
Overall I couldn't be happier.
Granted with the web interface and the mobile app...we do have other choices for gathering info from our tanks.

And to answer your question you cannot access the controller from the phone using the unit. Unit sends SMS when alarms and/or other abnormalities are triggered. So basically it's an extension of the P3.

that is a two part question. As i love my sms module. I will say i dont "need" it. The only time it is valuable to me is the alert of power loss. everything else can be done with the mobile app, or setting up the p3 to send text via email.

SMS unit cannot be controlled via phone.
Or at least I am not aware of.

I agree I do not need it but DAMN is great to know when power is out!!!!
Otherwise YES, you can set Profilux to send emails but I personally think text messages are BETTER AND QUICKER than emails. Unless you check your emails every minute of the day!

The app has limited control, the web interface is a bit better, but none have the full control of PLC.

So the actual control is limited. Will it be able to turn on and off pumps, lights or a feeder?

You can control everything you want if you simply install a third party app like LogMeIn (which is free as well) on your smart phone as it gives you a virtual desktop of the computer that is connected to your controller right on your phone. I have a Profilux 2 and it works great. I can log in from anywhere and see/modify anything I could from home. I also have a webcam installed on that computer so I can also watch it from my iPhone.

I also have logmein and i can do anything I want. But the new and improved web interface from Profilux is AMAZING!!!

I'd like to try it too as soon as I can figure out how to upgrade to the PL3 controller.
