Who isnt carbon dosing

Many reefers have jumped the band wagon with regards to all the different carbon dosing methods. The manufactures and lfs have been cashing in lots of money by making people believe its the new way to go. My question is that who doesnt believe in this carbon dosing and goes the natural methods and still has beautiful colour coral to prove.

I dont and im satisfied with my colors. check the totm and if you're not satisfied with his colors then by all means.
keeping an sps tank is enough work as it is, for me that is. dont need to complicate it further by adding more to my routine.

I only dose Alk, Ca, Mg, Rod's Food and recently Rotifeast.

Phosphate always measures 0. I need to feed a lot to get my Nitrate up from 0 to 2. I don't run GFO either and have only recently started running a little bit of GAC passively since I treated for red bugs. I never did before. I also use an AquaC Remora skimmer. Certainly not the greatest skimmer.

Coral colors are great and I've been getting good growth lately.

I'm actually really confused as to why people need to dose carbon sources and run GFO. Maybe I'm just lucky but it seems like I'm getting good results by not following the herd.

I'm on the fence about carbon dosing. My tank has zero algae and great growth and colors, so I'm hesitant to add an unknown factor that could mess it all up. I'll wait another year and see if bio pellets are still working for everyone.

I did dose vodka for a while but started to have issues even with dosing only half the vodka. I am happy with most of my sps colors and on the oned that are not colored up are getting there. I only dose kalk in mt ATO, feed the fish mixed home made mixed food and Rods Food for the sps I feed zooplankton and dose AAs. I am trying Koral Color to see if that works at all.

I think they are a means to an end. Not that they aren't useful, I think better husbandry could solve a lot of the issues. And I think in general people get too obsessed about keeping their nutrients at ridiculously low levels.

I think a lot of these zeovit and other ulns tanks look unnatural as most of the corals look partially bleached and nutrient starved. Sure they adopt nice colors but that doesn't necessarily mean that the corals are at their optimum health.
Just look through any image of a coral reef and most of the corals are brownish looking.

No carbon dosing for me either. My skimmer and water changes seem to be doing just fine. I've actually had to add another feeding for the fish each day and tone down on my skimming to get my SPS to color up. I think my skimmer is a bit oversized and so haven't found the need to carbon dose. I do run carbon and GFO.

I dont dose carbon, dont run gfo, nor run a refugium and the simplicity works pretty well for me
