im thinking i just need to take the 4 fish i have in my 90g out and QT them for like 6 weeks and treat as needed.

i have a Coral Beauty, 2 black percula clowns, and a foxface lo

they are all eating great and active, but only the foxface looks perfectly healthy. The clowns look like they have a light case of velvet, the coral beauty seems like it has a very light case of ich.

about a month ago, i lost all my fish except the foxface (and he got pretty bad with ich and popeye, but pulled out of it). I just left the foxface in their until a week or two ago, and got a couple fish.

think i just need to give the tank awhile to rid itself of any parasites.... anybody got any other options?? cause it isnt going to be an treat trying to catch these things with all this rock

Tested the water the entire time, everything has tested fine everytime

here are the tank specs, little things might have changed

your thoughts?

I would be interested, but can't make it to Fort Wayne until Friday evening or Saturday. I have a fish trap. Usually works for tangs and anges. Clown's don't usually attempt to enter.

ya, i do have a cleaner shrimp, he has been doing pretty well cleaning off the fish

i didnt plan on doing the fishing til friday or saturday, so feel free to bring the trap and get ahold of me if you wanna give it a try : - )

hmmm another idea may be to run a uv filter for a few weeks just to remove any unwanted parasites from the water, best bet though is to

sorry hit the button too early...

best bet is to qt and treat with hypo for 6 weeks. The clowns should be fairly easy to catch without the trap......I have one also but needs a piece of fishing line.....

Chad let me know if you are not going to make it and I will bring mine to the meeting.....

anybody have an extra uv filter? dont really feel like spending 100+ on one to use it for a few weeks, although that would be MUCH easier then taking all my rock out to catch the fish

ive heard mixed reviews about uv sterilizers tho, some say it kills helpful bacteria, others swear by them....

I have one Im going to be selling off for $50. It's a turbo twist 9 watt, up to 125g.
But honestly I would put the fish in QT. Then after the fish are healthy I would run the UV. Alot of people run UV for parasites, but they still have the parasites in there tank, only better water quality.

I have never used it. I bought it used though, it was six months old, so the bulb is still good for another 6 months. I was going to use it because of the algae in my tank, but decided to treat it a more natrual way, buying more fish.

i wish i had an algae problem or sumthing that would explain my issues, then i might feel better because i would know what to do in order to fix it. right now im just doing guess and check

really just need to QT all of them i think, and let whatever is in the tank die off for 6 weeks or so.... that just is another 6 weeks i wont be able to look at my 90g.... so about 6 months total now

Are you having a problem getting your fish out? I use a fishing method that for me works every time. Simply shut your pumps off apply small flake food to the top so it floats atop the water when they come up to the top to feed BAM! bust out those cat like reflexes and scoop em out! It works 60% all the time! I got that line from Anchorman. lol

i may have to try that. hopefully somebody can bring a trap to the zoo for me so i can try that. I was supposed to meet tazman tonight at Klaus's but i had baby duties to tend to.

they are looking better, but i just wanna get them out of there to be safe and fix the problem so i can start stocking up

Yea no doubt. I have only had a mild case of ich. This was when I first started a couple years back. All I can recommend is water changes more often and keepin a eye on those water parameters. Don't worry you get through it. Just takes time.

i wish it was just a case of ich... none of my fish show signs of ich exactly, more velvet. but even at that it seems kind of odd. they all eat fine and act normal, i just know there is something hiding in that tank that causes an outbreak everytime a new fish is put in

i dont think its foxy, i think its the entire tank. Foxface didnt get sick until after 4 fish died in the tank, then he looked like hell for a couple weeks and pulled out of it.

i vote you should just come over and use that expertise to do some fishing
