Why are my Zoos so small?

I had a saltwater tank for awhile now and am starting to get into Zoos. I've seen several pictures of other members Zoos and they look great. Many of them look like they are dime size to me. I only have a few zoo frags and they are really small (1/8 of a dime). I had 130watts of PC lighting, but I just upgraded it to 250watt MH on Friday. The frags are placed about half way up in the tank Should I expect to see significant growth from them now? Thanks!

you should acclimate them from PC to 250w MH slowly. it's a big change...and yeah, higher light should help with the size but most zoas are pretty small to start out with, including those

Like bbehring said, palythoas and zoanthus gigantus( otherwise known as PE's) tend to be much bigger than zoanthids.

I have over 30 varieties in my prop tank, and they vary from one to the next in size. I think some are just smaller than others. They spread like crazy no matter what the size though.
