A question that has been bugging me for a while is: Why are scallops so difficult to keep in an aquarium? I know that people say that they are filter feeders, but what makes them different then other filter feeders? Feather dusters are called filter feeders and they are considered to be one of the easier animals to have. Also the Pom Pom Crab is called a filter feeder, because of that I was not sure I wanted to get one but I did and she molted twice before she died about five months after I got her:sad2:. She released on of her anemones before she died and I found it almost two weeks later seemingly very well and sitting underneath the petals of my flower leather soft coral.
So since scallops seem to have the same dietary needs as the animals mentioned above how are the different in their care?
