Why don't my mushroms do good in my tank?

Hey guys, I posted this on another forum but i got no answer so far:

i have a few different kinds of mushrooms in different placements on the tank. The only ones that are doing good are the ones on the top. The rest are never open. My other corals are doing great though (xenia, colt, monti, GSP, hammer, trumpet, zoos).

what do you guys think could be? any nutrient mising maybe? flow? light? my water parameters are stable. Temp 80F, PH 8.2, Calcium 450, Amonia, Nitrate and NItrite undetectable. Alk within normal range.

TIA

i'm using 48 inch 4x65 Watt Current USA PowerCompact Orbit Fixture on a 55 gallon tank. As far as flow I have a return pump MAG7 and 2 more powerheads for extra flow. I am calculating about 500GPH

really? was he eating them? I had one of those but i haven't seen him in a while ... maybe it's still there....

this is a pic i took of it one day:

Ooohh thats a nasty bugger.

Well considering that you have the ones on top doing well that can mean 1 of 2 things to me.

It's a light issue. To test this move one shroom to the top that was doing bad.

-or-

Its being annoyed by something physical. Could be the worm or something else. It could be another coral.

You can assume its not water quality since the others are doing well. But you should always test the water fully.

Some pics of the good shrooms and the one that don't look happy might help.

Good luck.

I have the equivalent Coralife fixture and similar setup (pump, powerheads) on my 55 and have various mushrooms (plus xenia, hammer, star polyps, clam) that are doing well, some that just sprang up out of the LR. And a good number of bristleworms as well. I've never seen one attack a mushroom.

gabrito, you didn't mention Phosphate. Reducing phosphates is an ongoing struggle for me. Lately I've been using Blue Life Phosphate Control, it's easy to use and effective.

Ive seen the Bristle star in my tank eat all the Zoos of a full rock several time.......I cant place anything on the sand he come out and drags the whole rock over ot his little hide out
