Why in the world would a mod close a nice thread about baseball bats. Do they really have nothing better to do??????
Unreal!

People post all kinds of OT threads and no one closes the thread. It does suck that a mod with nothing better to do jumps on this thread and leave others alone. Looking at the CORA site and a whole bunch of OT threads without any one closing them. If we talk about Cleveland things not relates to the Saltwater/marine hobby, will they be closed also. We do live here.

if it belongs in the lounge it would not have been hard to move it there.

seems a lil odd to me.

Yep, and to boot this is a club forum, if we want to discuss off topic stuff amongst one another we can!. I used the report a post to mod button on that mod, I suggest everyone do that as well. Enough is enough already.

Well off to the pool to swim.
Happy fathers day to all you dads out there

I could see where it appears to be a FOR SALE thread by the wording in the first post and the first reply in the thread but it is obviously not if you read it more than once. He says "I have blah blah blah, anyone else do this?"

Someone might have reported the thread as a FS thread off topic and the mod didn't read it carefully enough.

I do see the need to keep the Craigslist style selling off here. Nobody wants to weed through 4 pages of used tires and lawnmowers for sale to read any reef related posts. Sometimes it is taken to the extreme with the closures.

There are always OT threads in club forums and I see mods participate in them sometimes.

That is a ridiculous assumption. RC gets ~9,000 posts per day. There is no possible way that we can read every post and we certainly don't go looking to cheese people off. The thread that was closed was reported, by a member of your club, so it was closed. The volunteers who moderate your board have no idea about your local "politics" so when that happens the thread will generally just get closed.

This is, after all, a reef keeping forum. By the reactions on this thread you'd think that someone was just stabbed in the street. A situationally appropriate reaction will get you a much better dialog.

The last time I checked, your club was using this resource completely free of charge. You're guests here. All we ask in return is that you follow the rules and treat the folks who keep the lights on with a little respect.
