Why My Clam Is Close !

i have my clam from 6 month , its doing fin but from three day it close !

Any one can explaine to me why its close ?

I'd think something might be irratating it, or the lighting might not be enough. Check pyramid snails.

Post your fish list,water params,lighting,& age of bulbs.Also like cloak said check for pyramid snails.They are very small white cone shaped snails.


Also what type of clam are you refering to?

Are any of your fish picking at it? I personally know a Orange-Spot Blenny who is a clam nipper!

You should also check his foot to make sure his bysus is still attached. Pyrams are VERY common. I have been using a melenarus wrasse to keep my clams clean, but before that I did a lot of brushing and fresh water dipping.

More system info would be helpful. Lighting, (are you photo acclimating him?) photo period, chemical parameters etc.

Maybe it just took a rest! My stuff is the same for months, then for a day or 2. it does something different, and then does there same old ****, do you ever change your routine!! Just relax!

my tank is 250l reef tank , i have : yellow tang , blue tang , clown fish , blue damsel , three strib damsel ,green cromes , six line wrass , bleny ,

ph : 7.9 , kh : 3.7 meq/l , ca :480 , mg : 1500 sg :1.024
