Wild Caught True Percula Pair?

Hey guys,

I may be purchasing a wild caught true percula pair for my 20 gallon. Just wondering, from your guys' experience, are tank-bred perculas or false perculas much much much hardier than wild caught ones? Also, will wild caught perculas be more likely to host a GBTA than tank bred false perculas? I know that bubble tip anemones are not a natural host of perculas, but will wildcaught ones be more likely to host the anemone?

Thanks!

Yes, I would say tank-bred are much hardier than wild-caught perculas. I would expect that ocellaris (false perculas) would go to a GBTA faster than a percula, regardless of whether the ocellaris is tank-bred or not. And, lastly, tank-bred ocellaris, in my experience are fairly quick to find a host anemone. I've had tank-bred ocellaris go to my RBTA's and, of course to H. magnifica, their favorite.
