Everything I have read on here indicates that the answer is "YES". The best course of action is not to use them. If you absolutely have to do it, the only way to possibly consider it is to tightly wrap the entire tank in something impermeable and shut off anything that is bringing room air into the tank (like your skimmer). If you have a sump that would need to be covered too. I hope you get some more responses from knowledgeable people. Someone asked a similar question here a few days ago and there was a response from someone who was a contractor and had dealt with exterminating companies. He made the suggestion about direct spraying to cracks and crevices causing less possible harm than fogging. You may want to look into that.
What kind of bugs do you got? I have a service that comes to take care of my bugs (primarily ants), but they only spray the outside perimeter of the house due to my tanks.
yes any fogger or spray with find its way into the tank. If it is absolutely necessary than do your best to make sure the tank is completely sealed. A friend used saran wrap and on top of that he used damp towels. make sure you remove any external components and put them in a safe place. most pesticides say to be absent from the home for 3 to 6 hours. so make sure what ever you remove wont be needed for the amount of time specified.
