Will copper sulfate disrupt nitrifying bacteria??

I know that copper will kill many inverts, but if I have a fish only tank and need to treat it with copper, can that kill the nitrifying bacteria in the biological filter?

nope, if dosed properly, copper will just knock the bacteria population back by about 20%
