I understand that Halimeda absorbs calcium from your tank.
If I cut back my Halimeda as it grows and leave the pieces in the bottom of the tank, will the calcium leach back in to the system?
Does dead Halimeda cause spikes in nitrates?
Thanks
I will remove the dead pieces then. The Halimeda is a new introduction to my tank and my calcium has always run high to begin with. See no reason to risk raising nitrates either.
Thanks for the info.
