Will Metronidazole bother healthy fish??

I have a sick clam that may have a bacterial infection and it has been suggested that if a freshwater dip does not help the clam to try it in a QT tank with Metronidozale treatment. My QT tank is running with two baby clownfish (one Picasso) growing up and getting big enough to swim with the big boys in one of my reef tanks. The question is can I treat the clam in the QT tank with the babies still in there?? Will it bother the babies who have nothing wrong with them?? The QT ahs beenset up and running for the past 7 weeks so a potentially good stable QT environement for the clam...Any thoughts??
