Will Seam Split

HI ALL, I might be downsizing but have a possible issue pointed out to me.
I have a 500g tank with about 400lbs of rock. its been up and running for 3 years. I was told that if I remove all that weight I could risk a split seam near the bottom if the glass even moves up a tad. I wanted to keep runng the tank as something else other than a reef. what do you think??

like would be saying any tank you ever empty would split the seam. not the case. alot of people move and take their tanks with them for example.
