I have cloudy water and algae that covers the sides of my tank in just a days time. When I turn on the moonlight for 10 hours the tanks algea is gone but when I turn on my metal halide in the day then by night the algae has grown back. I found this medication called algone. ( www.algone.com ). Will this work well to get rid of it or is there any better suggestions out there? I just recently bought a bio wheel filter and since then this has been happening along with amphipods covering the tank.
Will this fix my algae problem??

How old is the tank? What are your nitrate and phosphate levels?

Most often algea caused by excess of nutriens in water. Here is a link that might help.
Also, using "magic" potions work only on sympthoms, but if the cause of algae growth still present, then sooner or later you'll be back where you started.
