Will this plumbing plan work?

I've had a reef tank going in my apartment for almost a year now, and I recently saved enough to get everything to add on a sump. The tank is drained and drilled, inhabitants are in a temp tank, and I'm ready to start plumbing.

So if anyone could help answer these few final questions, that would be great.

I only plan on having this tank (29g DT, 20g sump) running for one year at this apartment. Once I move out I will upgrade, so if I could plumb it some way to be able to reuse the plumbing, that'd be great.

Current plans:
I plan on using flex pvc for this build. From the overflow elbow connect a union, then attach the flex pvc to the union and run down to the sump. (Can flex go directly into a union?)

For the return from my eheim 1262, small bit of rigid pvc tubing, then a T off to a 1/2 line for reactors. Connecting to the top of the T, back to flex pvc all the way up to the return elbow of the tank (where I assume another union should be placed).

Any suggestions would be great, thanks!

You could use screwed fittings that way you can take them apart. You could also put unions in and put everything back after you move

Depends on the type of flex you are looking at using. If you are looking at using the flex PVC from your local hardware store it should be fine to fit in a union (I looked at some when doing my plumbing). If you are referring to the clear flex tubing, it will work with a union but you may need to look into getting some barbs and fasteners to ensure that the tubing doesn't flood your apartment. If needing barbs, I would suggest getting unions with threads that was you can possible reuse your plumbing in a different setup. The only issue with reusing the plumbing is if you are going with a larger setup, you will most likely run into length issues. Good luck.

Depending on access and design of overflow drain and return with this size you could easily get away with vinyl tubing and no unions. Slip x threaded bulkheads. Add unions etc when you get a larger set up.

Always add the ability to take it apart. That was my mistake when I did my first reef plumbing job, glued everything...oops!
