There is a recent review of the pinpoint[?] probe - It can't be in the water all the time [no continuous reading] and it fluctuates wildly.

Understood, I have all pinpoint probes now but I am seriously considering getting an aquacontroller basically for the data logging that is achieved. I am extremely computer literate and would use the info for a web log.

I also like the idea of continuous montiroing without me watching

I'm not aware of any Ca probe (including the Pinpoint probe) which is reliable enough for continuous monitoring. In my opinion the pinpont probe is marginal even for checking the Ca when it has just been calibrated. Its drift, temperature susceptibility, etc. make it unusable for continuos monitoring. When an adequate and reliable enough probe is available, we will certainly add support for it to our controllers.
