Windows 8.1, GHL Control Center freezing.

Getting extremely frustrated setting up my 6100HV.

Running Windows 8.1, installed the latest beta software. On plugging it, it's not a recognized device although it does show up as "Mitras6100" but not functional.

Try every which way to get it work. I have Com ports so it should work but doesn't.

Finally read somewhere that you can go to the Tools subfolder and install a Fuji USB emulation driver of some sort so I do that. Finally it appears normal in my device manager as USBVCOM

Now when I try to connect in GHL control center beta or non-beta, the program just freezes no matter how long I leave it on.

I've owned a Radion Pro, AI Hydra, etc. None have been such an astronomical pain to get working on a computer.

Fixed it.

You have to disable Windows 8.1 Driver signing authentication... ugh why can't GHL just have proper Windows drivers?

How do you disable driver signing authentication? I've been trying for an hour to get the driver to work on Windows 8.1. The Control Center works fine, but I can't get it to connect to the Mitras.

Thanks Bill, I will try that. I read about that, but it wasn't explained.

EDIT: Ok Bill, I think I need more information. If I hold down the shift key while restarting I come to a blue screen that has some options what I want to do. I choose "device setup". This takes me to a screen with many options...such as something like USBCD, USBHD, and USBCC or something like that...essentially about 6 options that start with USB. I have no idea what any of this means and when I click on these things nothing happens - that I can tell.

Further to doing the disable driver thing.
I have found every time I do an update, it then wants me to do the driver again.
As you say whole process frustrating.
