So for the past month or so ive been laid off. it gave me plenty of time to take care of a couple projects i wanted to do. reef central gave me so many great ideas. Changes that i made are. I wanted a canopy top. And to replace my over flow box and a new return pump both were very noisy the over flow gurgled and the pump propeller rattled. and to give my stand a face lift to match canopy also upgrade my lights would like to try growing some hard corals brains, acropora, some monti's so let me no what you think.

the canopy was built twice ill explain i had all my cut sizes went to home crapo chose the cabinet grade 3/4" ask the guy if he could cut this down for me , ya no problem. lol what a mistake i gave him my cut sizes he cut the pieces i thought wow that saved so much time i didn't have a table saw. so checked the cut sizes as he was cutting only checked one side of every piece my fault every thing looked good until i got home made room in my dining room and started putting it together their saw was a little over 1/2 " on a 8 foot cut and a 1/4" on 4 foot cut man i was not happy if you no what i mean . the next day went back returned the wood partialy built canopy. saw the same guy i asked him what the deal was . o im sorry that machine is off quit a bit ,ya no #$#$. they were all out of the wood i want went to diff home crapo and had the guy cut all my pieces 2 " bigger and finished the cuts with a jig saw hears a few pics of canopy.

I think the canopy came out pretty good considering i used a jig saw and a drill for the molding i used left over 1/4" luan and bought a skill saw to cut 2" strips needed one any way plus got a deal on it. sanded down rounded edges thats the canopy.

The doors i did over because they did not match my stand when they were painted. They were too shiny , I think it was because of different wood 1x 4 pine against birch wood and didn't like the little bit of light shining through.I had wood left over from canopy i wanted some sort of design here's pics of the doors.

bulbs are 4 12000k white and 4 blue antics
very nice look for the tank and very bright
does anyone have suggestions of a new bulb line up for when these ones go bad. like i side would like to grow other types of corals and what would be a safe choice of corals to try .

also added 2 #2 koralia for circulation total tank circulation some were around 1800 gallons hour.

thanks

any more time off from work who knows what will happen , wife cant wait for me to go back lol.
