All of a sudden I see a new snail in my pico tank. I have so many little critters now! This LR was absolutely amazing. I got about 2 lbs. from a VERY established sump, and out comes tons of pods, and now this cool snail. Looks like a white/purple stomalla or something. Can someone please tell me what it is? and if it's safe in my softy tank?

yep stomatella snail, very aggresive algae eaters. lucky you!!

Soo aggresive that they tend to have their populations crash when the algae is gone.

wow cool, thanks. He never ate algae before my cerith cleaned out the tank... but now that it's so clean, he's come out into the open. I guess he doesn't eat as much as a cerith? or my cerith was just darn hungry in my other tank of 15 ceriths and 4 trochus.

I got two on some LR about a month ago. I now have 10+. They spawn simultaneously, launching white bubbles into the water column in unison. It's quite a sight.

minimalist is right, it is cool to see. Mine tend to wait until I turn off the overflow and the water is calm, around 9:30 at night. They all go to the highest point they are near (on top on the clam, the tallest point of any rock), and they Rise-Up on thier "hind legs",LOL, and begin to SQUIRT away, for about 20min. I have counted over 20 puffs of eggs from one snail:)
