I help take care of one at work. It stays down in the sump area of our system. Very cool eel. As far as the fish eating IME the one at work cant even catch them. A firefish jumped down there about 3 weeks ago and is still alive. The eel can barely snag krill off a stick let alone catch a swimming fish. If I kept one at home I would keep it by itself though.
Well, what a co-inky-dinck I just may have happened to have stumbled into an article about keeping them earlier today. Heres what I got out of it (from memory, so it probably isn't 100% correct)
Wolf ell blennies are not wolves, eels, or blennies but instead a type of dottyback.
Wolf eels need a minimum of 30 gallons for a pair (didn't say that, but mentioned that 2 successfully spawned in a 30 gallon)
Likes to burrow and acts very eel like
Will eat fish and inverts
Not suitable for reef tank because of what is mentioned above
