You know all those bitty fish/shrimp like tiny gobies and sexy shrimp that can't normally be kept in a community because they get eaten? Anyone ever kept a tank with just a bunch of those?
I would love a long tank, maybe something in the 30-40g range, designed for tiny fish. I'd put mostly macroalgae in it, since the tinies can't hurt macros, and maybe some sort of non-stinging soft coral on one side. It would probably have two mounds of rock, one on each side, and LRR under the mounds to grow pods. Probably also some filter floss or the like hidden in a bundle under a mound, and a bundle of chaeto in the middle area.
Do 'shroom corals sting? I've heard that they can...
What about zooanthids?
Potential stock:
Tiny gobies of all sorts
Bluestripe pipefish
Clingfish? If I can find a frozen-food-eating one. I mean the long skinny pipefish-shaped ones, not the fat clingy ones
Firefish? They have fairly small mouths
Some tiny shrimpgoby, maybe two
Assesor? Those have little mouths... Right?
Sexy shrimp, a bunch, possibly with a coral for them to host in
Maybe a couple of those more fragile anemone shrimp... I know I saw this one kind that just floated around the tank in the LFS and looked really delicate and neat
Randall's pistols to match up with the shrimpgobies
Porcelain crab, probably
No hermits or other crabs
Smaller snails species for CUC
What do you think? Would that look neat? The idea is to have a bunch of tiny cuties... Hence the long and thin tank to better display them.
