I have really long worm, and it's hairy!:eek2: :eek1: .....lol

It only comes out when the lights go out,......are they ok to have in your tank?

Oh.......real freaky, it's lightening fast movement when it realizes that the lights are on, retracting back into its hole!! Faster than a blink of an eye I recon!!

Any idea what this thing is? I know it could be from any number of species, as we are finding new ones all the time, but which one is it? I don't think im fast enough to take a photo of it.:)

No I don't think it is a bristle worm, i know what they are, i have one in there some where, a small one.

But this thing is really fast, i only ever see it when the lights are out!

Anybody know what it is?

Sorry i thought you met bristle star.......oh they are creapy arn't they!!

Thanks heaps for that Paintbug.....lol :)

I really hope to go mine does not get that big!! I still don't know how long he is, i have only ever seen one end of it, but that is defiantly what it is, looks just like it!

Thanks Scrmbld33

I have a eunicid. They come in all colors. Watch the hole for 2-3 antenna sticking out with a red flashlight, after a bit, the worm will come out if it feels safe. They have 5, but 2 are hard to see. Sit real still and wait. Mine also comes out partially when I feed the tank and only the actinics are on.

I just canââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t get over how fast they are!

Well mine has come out about a thumbs length, again still not sure how big he is, suppose I will never know. I just noticed today it left a slimy residue from last night where it was coming in and out of its hole!.......eww :)

Might try the blue light tonight and see if he wants to come out.

I sat looking for hours to get some good looks of mine. Just be patient. They are fast and react to any movement or change in light. I haven't had in issues with mine, I just keep an eye on it.

It slowing moves out of its hole, I've seen its whole body a few times, but usually not that patient to watch. Once you able to get a good look at the first inch or two, you'll be able to tell if it is a eunicid.

Ok i have just seen it....... and i think it's definatly a eunicid. Wow we have identified something in my tank! Thanks guys you have been a great help!. I will have to spend some sleepless nights up watching my tank,......but like techigirl78 i think i would loose my patience waiting for the dam thing to come out.....lol :). They take ages compared to how fast they retract back into ther hole!
