I have a 20 gallon sump which is roughly 24" long. My skimmer compartment will take up 14" (Vertex IN100 skimmer footprint is 11" x 13") and the pump compartment will take up 7" (Eheim 1262 is 6 1/2" x 8 1/2") leaving me with about 3" for a refugium. Is it even worth doing for this small of an area? My gut tells me that a better choice would be to add a second tank as a refugium and elevate the tank a bit, drill it fro drainage and have it drain into the sump.
