Would like some input on this green shrimp..

sugartooth

Reef bully
It's a light green color and looks too funny to toss out of the tank....but I just want to make sure what this is before putting it in the tank....He has a tapered body like a torpedo shape to him.

For now I have him in a cup, until I can get some info on him. I'd like to know the disposition as well as not put him in any danger.

If it helps, I found him in a tri-color head but not sure if that was just coincidence.
He sure is funny! It's like he is top heavy when he tries to swim away. He has enormous arms like popeye! But the actual claws that open and close are itty bitty.

Put him back on an acro. This is Coralliocaris graminea, an obligate commensal of Acropora. It's thought that they feed on mucus and food trapped by the coral. In return they help deter the coral's predators. These guys can produce clicking sounds just like alpheids. They are fun to watch - did you notice how they move the arms in a synchronized matter? Probably imitates polyp movement.

They do not damage the acro? Someone posted the same info about coming in on acro, however they noted that they would do damage.

Not really. They do more good than harm. Many of these obligate commensals are beneficial overall. It doesn't do them any good to kill their hosts.
