wow my anenome

Just keep an eye on them. If they look good and open up, then I'd say you're doing fine. I added a green BTA and it split the second I put him in my tank (they're both doing fine and have huge appetites). On the other hand, I have a rose BTA and it hasn't split (but eats like a horse). :) Congrats and continued luck!

kkyyllee-it was only on split...and a partial split

Ebisan-i think it split and healed...at least thats what my dad said...i dont even know if it split earlier than when he told me

kuoka-thanks...i have a rose also and hasnt split...

so is it...or isnt it possible that it enjoys the conditions in my tank???

Coast2coast....I think anything is possible, mine is in a smaller tank and has split numerous times too....It has been in there for over almost two years.....Just try to keep an eye on it and wish for the best...Congrats!!

phxpdrocks...youre my kind of thinker:beer:...i will keep an eye on it...im going to see the tank tomorrow...so i will let you guys know how it looks

ok so i went to my dads office today...and the anenomes look healthy...they arent healed yet well at least one isnt...and they arent spliting again...

Anemone's will split to re-produce (a good thing) or because of stress or defense (it will create another clone of itself hoping that the other has a better chance of survival). If your water params are good and the anemone's look healthy, then I'd say you're okay.

ok he tested the water with one of those test strips...and it said that it was really low...and he told the LFS and they said that nothing should be doing that well if they are alive...i use liquid reactor and i have been told that this is supposed to buffer your PH...i also have softies and zoos

so what do you think is up

"ok he tested the water with one of those test strips"
Bad idea. Not very reliable. Get some good test kits to use. There are namy out there.

"and it said that it was really low"
What was really low?

"and he told the LFS and they said that nothing should be doing that well if they are alive"
Not sure what you mean here.

From the limited information you have given it seems your anemone's may be splitting due to stress. In order to help the group here will need some better information.

Actual values on
Sg
Ph
Amm
Nitrite
Nitate
Calcium
Alkalinity
Temperature
Actual lighting being used.

If you have multiple anemones in a 30 gallon tank this may also be stressing them out.

the test strips are just a quick way to test the water...
low was like 7 point something
he said something like the fish/coral should be stressin out...but i dont notice anything out of the ordinary

ill have my dad take the water to the LFS and write down the measurements

but
Actual lighting being used:JBJ PC's one atinic...one 10000K about 4 watts per gallon
