It's a type of Mori wrasse. Silimar to the harlequin tuskfish.

cheilinus fasciatus or the common name Red Breasted Wrasse. Usally out of the Red Sea but some have come out of Bali. The smaller ones that have good color come out of Bali while the ones from the Red Sea don't start to show good color until they get 6"+ or so.

I have a large one, 10", in my tank and it does very well. For their large size they're not that aggressive so be careful with what you put them in with. I've seen a # of them showing up since X-mas with good size, 4"-8", and really good color.

what do you feed yours?

I feed him Formular I & II plus pieces of shrimp and clam. They usually hang out on the bottom of the tank and looks for things to eat in the sand, some will even blow the sand around to try and find some thing to eat. I also feed a marine pellet type food, either Formular I or Spectrum, which sinks to the bottom and keeps them busy.

For the size it can get, about 2', it's not a very aggressive fish and other fish can take food away from it, so I usually feed the tank first and then him after.

thanks all, I have noticed him being very shy but still very cool wondering around the tank digging in the sand.
