I cannot say I've seen a wrasse quite like that before, a very nice fish.

The lines along the body, are they truly blue or is that a camera artifact?

The colour pattern is similar to several juvenile and subadult phrases of Coris species, notably the comb wrasses - C. picta and C. musume. Neither has a yellow band on its tail, but Coris picta does have a yellow tail as an adult.

I suspect you may have a subadult fish currently transitioning between phases. That's my best guess, though it is a guess!

Hope that helps.

It's juvenile chisel-tooth wrasse, Pseudodax moluccanus. I hope you have a big tank, these guys get large (10+ inches). Also make sure you include some algae in their diet.

Edit: Oh, and David is right, this one is transitioning from juvi to adult (the yellow on the tail is typical of adults).

Thanks for the great info. How can you guys know all about this? I even didn't know where to start when I bought this.

The fish is purple black with 2 neon blue lines across the body and a bright yellow ring on its tail. Its fin is red.

I only have a 70g tank. Hope this enough for this small subadult. Anyway, thanks again for these helpful info. I'll make some search about this one.
