Wrasse in QT question

Hey guys,
I have 2 wrasse's coming in tomorrow that I will place into my 20 gallon long QT. It will be split in half with an egg crate divider that I made.

One is a melanarus wrasse and the other is a
McCosker's Flasher Wrasse. Do either of these wrasse' need sand in the QT? I know the melanarus wrasse will hide in sand when it feels threatened, but will ample PVC pipes accomidate this need while in QT?

I would prefer to keep it bare bottom so I don't have to worry about the sand absorbing the meds/copper when using PraziPro or cupramine if needed.

I know what some people do is put a small container w/sand in their QT for wrasses. I think the copper absorption for such a small amount of sand would probably be negligible. But since you're supposed to test the copper every night just before the lights go off anyway, just aim for .5ppm which gives you a lot of wiggle room and bump it up a little if you see it starting to fall. It would have to drop below .35ppm to be non-effective against Ich. These concentrations are for Cupramine - for CopperSafe it's 1.5 - 2.0ppm.
