Wrasse loves my cleanup crew.

My melanurus absolutely loves eating my snails and hermits but I am not willing to sacrifice losing him. So I'm wondering what clean up creatures are a good substitute. Cuc's, star, urchin, etc. What do you use for clean up if you own one? I just noticed how my hermits aren't around anymore.

yes sir. Mysis and another larger prawn/shrimp mix. He eats very well. I feed him slowly and watch him eat everything in the tank before adding more.

sometimes ill use tiger pods

i only had two cucumbers and two black longspine urchins in my 150. i caught one of the urchins started eating sps after 2 years. so i took both of them out. they were very useful though. i'd get the small ones if i need help again. the cucumbers are also very useful for cleaning the sandbed.

My Melanarus and Blue spot puffer are so random. I can throw in snails and half disappear in a week. Then the other group is still alive and fine 6 months later.

Mexican Turbos they leave alone due to size but Turbos always die anyways on me. I bought a bunch of astrea snails awhile back and find that most are still alive, but they don't really ever seem to clean anything.

Might try urchins as well, wasn't aware of cuc's.

I just gave in. I love my Red Coris Wrasse, but I know I will be buying him snails every couple of weeks. He flips them over and snacks on them right in front of me!

Its kinda funny in a way. he will try to angle himself to see under their shell and follow them slowly around, some he cant get because they're just too big. He doesn't bother my conch which im very happy about.

I love how he seems very protective of some corals. he will eat anything that comes near my hammers and will clean any algae around them.
