Wrasse question

Hey everyone, I was wanting to get a wrasse. Possibly a melanurus. Does any know of any that are in that same family halichoeres, that are just plain awsome looking? Just wanted to see my options before I chose.

Thanks!

Okay, let me completely redo this question. Help me pick out my fish! XD
I have a perc, a blue damsel, and a sunburst anthias, all in a 90 gallon rimless, gonna be a reef. All suggestions welcome, I want some real showstopper fish. Then one centerpiece fish, which I have no idea which one though. I was thinking maybe a male and female ventralis anthias pair? ( difficulty, experiences) Maybe two lyrtails, three chromis, and a tang? I don't know! HELP!

if you plan on keeping the wrasse you are going to need a top..or you will have a dreid crispy dead wrasse..also i would skip the tang as well

some people use a small "fly net" kind of a plastic mesh that they put over there open topped tank to keep jumpers in.. Just an Idea

Here are two others in the halichoeres family

I personally like the look of the Melanurus best followed closely by the radiant.

blah blah blah..... this will keep them in:

I had a hooded wrasse jump through eggcrate. I thought he would not get out because of the hole size it had, but it goes to show ya how they can get out of the smallest of things.

yes eggcrate is useless for the smaller wrasses

An adult melanurus can be a stunning fish, especially considering it's low price. I had one for a couple years and it never jumped. It's also extremely active.
