Wrasse Recommendation

As I already suggested at least once, go to liveaquaria.com and start your researching and window shopping there.

I have been on live aquaria, I almost go on the diver's den everyday. Although, I would like to know if there is any other better choices, and better prices.

I'm partial to the green/blue bird wrasse. We've always kept them. They're very cool swimmers and the ones we've had were very personable and interactive with us. The best setup we had was with three males together, they were really cool, shoaling and playing together.

A medium size male would be under $100.

Any pictures your could share?

If you are keeping a reef tank with motile inverts I would stay away from a bird wrasse, as they will be on its menu.

In a tank your size, any of the "reef safe" wrasses will do just fine, depending on the livestock you already have.

As mentioned, tank type (reef/fish only) will help determine which wrasses that you can keep. What are fish that you already have? Are you purchasing the fish in China or the US?

That yellow/purple looks lovely, but I think OP has a reef tank,

This wrasse may chew on the inverts

I have a red coris wrasse--most beautiful fish I have ever owned, but would definitely decimate the cuc

Good point, I found out the hard way a couple years ago with this very same fish. I put 2 Fire and 2 Cleaner Shrimp in, and all was fine.

For aboot a half hour, it was a massacre.
:debi:

I have a six line wrasse, not fancy but he's a nice, beautiful fish. Very entertaining. Tonight he was showing off his fins to my black clownfish and coral beauty.

Sounds like he's preparing to harass them!
Unfortunately, 6 line wrasses will usually become PITA fish that will attack new tankmates, and are hard to catch and remove...

I love my mystery wrasse. Super cool coloring and he swims around like a predator, darting in and out of rockwork and just being totally active. They look better in person than any picture ive seen.

I've heard that mystery wrasse will feed on ornamental shrimps, is that true?
