Wrasses and Shrimp?

What say you? I have a 1inch 6 Line Wrasse. He's MIA in my tank, he's been in hiding for 3 days now. He's a new addition...does he pose a serious threat? I have a red banded shrimp, a sexy shrimp, and I was considering getting a peppermint shrimp to mow down some of my apstasia. Are they ok given his size or are they inevitably fish food.

Any of you guys had any good luck with 6 Line Wrasses and shrimp?

I'd say they are fish food, especially the small ones.
Really? The sexy shrimp is toast, but the others...No. A sixline will harass any small fish you add from this point forward, but their mouths are so small IME they don't go after larger shrimp.

yup. it happened. although my wrasse is in hiding... I come home to find shrimp tail floating next to some coral. are pepermint shrimp next on the menu

The peppermint shrimp is probably next, depending on how large it is relative to the wrasse's mouth. Seriously, in my experience wrasses enjoy going after small motile invertebrates... it's what they do. :)
