I know I have had a few threads on this subject but I just dont think I can take it anymore. I have a carpenter wrasse thats about 3 inches and it seems to want to show every fish in my tank that its boss by going up to it and flashing...some get scared but most just dont pay any attention to it. Well the issue lies with my male Filamented Flasher Wrasse. Both were added at the same time. Both seemed fine for the first week in my DT and then the carpenter just kept harassing the filamented wrasse. the filamented wrasse kept trying to jump and slamming into my glass tops and hurting itself. it now hangs out under my HOB filter lip and it ventures out here and there all around the tank until the carpenter spots it. The line has been drawn when the bottom part of the mouth went missing from the filamented flasher. I thought the aggression would go down but its been about 2 months and it has but its still there here and there. I can catch the filamented wrasse but i have nowhere to take it. my lfs is under new management and closed for a transitional period and I dont think the new owner (who I dont know) will want to take a fish that is in bad shape. the carpenter wrasse is totally impossible to catch and I dont want to take apart my tank to get it out. I dont want to stress out my other fish and well...I just reaquascaped and got it just how i want it. noone else is really bothered but the filamented. any suggestions on what I should do? I was thinking of getting a new tank but its really not an option with my parents plus noone to take care of it while im at classes for the day. if there are any techniques for me to catch this carpenter wrasse i would greatly appreciate it. It seems to know what a net looks like and hides immediately when i walk up to the tank with it. also anyone have any input on any other wrasses that would be good in a 55. im looking into going reef in the future and I have inverts. thanks!
