WTB: acrylic sump 24Lx15Wx14-15H max
I may have to go custom, but thought I'd ask first.

my current sump is similar dimensions, and I am very limited on space and height clearance and thus size options.

I would like the sump to be approximately equaly split by baffles to max return area while still having enough room in the first compartment for an aquac180.

if I have to go custom, anyone have any recommendations besides socalcreations.com ? they do nice work, but I was looking to go budget.

I already have a large 40 gal refugium that is connected to my current sump. I suppose I could replace the dual sump and refugium combo I have with an integrated and larger setup, but that would require significant modifications to plumbing and stand.

Check with fish590a.
I bought a very nice sump from him. Works great, nice and thick. Not cheap thin junk.
He builds them.

Hey Chris,
That almost a 20 gallon tank which is 24 x 12 x 16 no good??
Your setup now has two sumps connected together??
I'm doing the same, any pics fo your setup??
How do you have them connected???

here is a general flow diagram of my system:

the connection between sump and refugium is below the top, and this allows for some excess overflow capacity in event of power outage. The connection is by 1 1/2 in bulkheads with the flange on the water side, and the threads connected by large vinyl tubing and clamps. (I'll look around to see if I have a good pic).

The flow arrangement allows me to isolate refugium drain so it does not get skimmed.

old pics, sump slightly different now (upgraded skimmer and added baffles), but connection between sump and refugium the same. this allowed me to build the system in the garage, leak test, and then disassemble/reassemble to move into apartment at upgrade. Then disassemble/reassemble when moved to house in 2003. All through front doors of stand.

Very cool. That's exactly how I have mind done now. Do you think 1" would be ok, or do you think 1.5" is really needed between the two sump??
And how far from the top do think the bulkhead should be if the tank is 16" high??
Same flow as your is.
Thanks for the help and pics.

Yep, too tall ReefMeister. but thanks for checking.

I'd have no room to get access in/out of sump for skimmer, etc

Chris, I think I have that size. Let me check with Tetra or your can PM him.

once again, you are on crack. You left with another reefer and thinking it's with me. You better call that reefer up and don't make Chris wait too long or I will kick you in the nuts.
