wtb apistasia easting anything

Looking for apistasia eating filefish or peppermint shrimp. Practically any way to remove it naturally and not effect anything else but the apistasia. Reef safe.

I had a small outbreak of aptasia and purchased 5 peppermint shrimp from AP 2 weeks ago and honestly they are all gone. Its a hit or miss with peppermint shrimp because certain ones will eat them others won't. I was there yesterday and they still had some. Good Luck

Same with me. Some will and some won't. I just bought a few myself. Years ago, I bought 6-8 maybe, and there were a couple in the group that did the job, quickly. One or two may or may not work, but get enough (or the right individual), you'll find one that will work.

I've not had luck with the peppermint shrimp so after much research I bought a Matted File Fish. Wish I had sooner, great fish and will eat your aiptasia without eating corals.

I bought peppermint from a lfs that was a proven aptasia eater, that way I knew I only needed 1. They were all gone in 2 weeks. If you ask your lfs they might have one they use for there own house keeping. Never hurts to ask.

Want to buy an aptasia wand ? Peppermint might work but they seem to only eat very small aptasia and even that is a hit or a miss. They leave the big ones alone.

The best bet would be a racoon butterfly but they will eat your corals. I've had issues with file fish and copper band. They don't seem to live long.

is a bit of a pain
Set up a separate tank inline with the main system. Put the peppermints in it with the rock/aptasia's. Rotated the rocks when they were cleaned up.
Mine ate any/all sizes of aptasia, then ate each other...
They were not fed anything else and were voracious, almost piranha like. Fun to watch...for a while.
All of the rocks were cleaned up in a matter of a couple of weeks.
