WTB: Blue Xenia

I owned it once, and this guy on frags.org had a posting up but is now gone. It's one of the xenias I'm currently searching for. There are ppl who own it, I just haven't found them yet..:)

Make sure that the piece you buy has had time to totally recover and is well established if you're getting it shipped. Cespitularia (often refered to as African Blue Xenia) is pretty pricey and not the best shipper. I'd make sure I bought it from someone who knows what they are doing when shipping or pick it up if at all possible. The pic posted by XeniaMania is definitely the blue Xenia. It has the irridescent blue base, often the cups are orange and it isn't pulsing. The great thing about it is that it is a stalking xenia like XeniaMania said and doesn't spread like regular xenia. A beautiful addition to a tank, IMO. GL, Marcye

The Cespitularia is referred to as an African Blue Xenia? Huh...I wonder if that's what Aquacon is selling then since they do have an african blue, even though that picture shown is taken from GARF's Fiji xenia page..

Well, that was a reference that many people use for it...just a nick name like so many others out there, but when searching it out for info, it helps to have anything it's referenced by, don't ya think? I'll have to check out that Aquacon site and see what that references. I tried for a long time to get some and often was sent pics of the blue anthelia, a very nice coral btw, but it does spread fast and furious once it gets going. I finally found true Cespitularia referenced as African Blue Xenia and had a piece hand delivered at a conference. It's done very well in my tank, a slow grower but healthy and very colorful.
