WTB Corals

Hi I have just recently set up a 90 gallon tank and I am looking for some corals to start adding to it. For right now I'm kinda wanting to stick with the more hardy corals until I get the tank more established. I'm not sure at the moment what I really want to add to the tank, I'm thinking a mixed reef with more sps than anything though. I am in Clanton Al, but can drive anywhere within a reasonable distance, something like bham or montgomery.

Not sure how far it is for you, but there is a good place in Oxford called Valley Tropical Fish, and there is one in alabaster called that pet place I think. I have never been to Alabaster, but have been to Valley and they are very nice and have a good selection.
There are 2 lfs close to hoover as well.

Oxford is actually a bit too far away, and I haven't found a SW store in Alabaster. I have been going to a place called Aquarium Imports in Hoover but their selection isn't the greatest, especially for the price.

If you ever make it down to Montgomery, send me a message and we can hook up. I've got an overloaded frag tank with everything from softies and zoas to SPS. It's going with me to Memphis on the 27th, but it has a way of making its way back with me, too.

Re: WTB Corals

mushrooms, zoas, palyps and kenya tree are all hardy. Check the CARC threads for club meetings most of the times the members have frags for sale. There is several good places to get reasonable zoas online, if interested PM me and I will email you the web addresses. Also you are welcome to attend NARC meetings we always have frags for trade, sell or free.

Considering the gas money, getting frags shipped to you may not be a bad option. Many softies such as zoanthids and leathers travel well if packed well.

no kidding, its down here a little bit though, down to 3.55 per gallon

mims5011 - NARC meetings are usually around Huntsville. You are much closer to the people in Montgomery like gflat65 and the company.

mims, If you ever travel to North Alabama on the weekend, Coral reef aquatics is in Athen and John has a nice selection of fish and coral. http://www.coralreefaquatics.com/default.aspx
At the moment he is closed on sat because he does not miss an Alabama football game. He has stuff on the website but I don't think he actually sells on it.

I live in jemison, and there is a good store in alabaster on 119.Me and my father-in-law go up to it alot. I have a 135 custom and father-in-law has a 40.If you want to go with us some time just let me know,or if you just want to talk reef stuff.

Thanks I didn't know about those places. I had been to Aquarium Designs in the Patton Creek shopping center, but the closed down and I haven't been able to find a good place since then.

Aquarium Designs is now on Highway 31 by Mayer Lighting. Exit I65 at the Oak Mt. Exit, go to Highway 31, turn North (right) and it is up on your left past the WalMart.
