Finally got the fuge done for the prop tank and now I need some sand and chaeto. As much or as little as you have to spare. LMK. Thanks in advance.

Nano I've got same Cheato for you if you need it? All you'll need is a small piece and it will do the rest given fair tank conditions and enough light.
My cheato is under a comparable 75 watt bulb which I believe is actually a 16 watt fluorescent light. The housing is a simply clip on type used for painting or construction and the bulb is as I said ia a 16 watt (?) spiral fluorescent light bulb. The whole setup is less than $15 and my cheato has been doing fine in it for well over a year now. Both can be had at Home Depot. Let me know.

That's good to hear cause I got the 23 watt version which they claim is equal to 100 watt bulb. Clip on fixture too. I'll let you now as soon as I'm sure there are no leaks.

i'm using the same light to light our "pest" tank in a normal desk lamp sor tof fixture - 75W equivalent compact flourescent "daylight" bulb - everything seems happy there, ther eis some caluerpa that seems to be growing and the few xenia polyps that made it in there seem to be doing ok

Ok Nano. If I'm not available (work) let bloop bloop know and she can get in contact with me as to when you want it ok?

Good to hear Safir. I've had some "other" growth in my sump/fuge of another hair type algae as well as the cheato. It's easily removed though and is not making it's way out to the tank. I think maybe a small PC light would give me faster growth of the cheato but I don't really seem to need it. If I decide to put some critters into it I may upgrade later though. Nice to hear that your caulerpa and xenia are happy in it :). For the cost to buy it and run it, you can't beat it.

Well, I got everything in place and started to fill. Got my new PC lights so I decided to see how the tank looked with the tank lights on. What do you know! The back of my prop tank was full of cracks. I couldn't see them because the back was painted black. So now I have to try my hand at drilling a new tank since the one I bought was cracked.

Ewwwwww. I just helped a buddy pick up a 150 gallon which was a brackish set -up and he's converting it to a freshwater only set-up. I won't give the horrible details of picking it up but the tank by itself has to be close to 300 lbs. LOL.
It made it to Middletown from PA succesfully and he's got an Amiracle filtration (sump) set-up that he will probably be selling. If anyones interested, let me know.
It also has a 600gph overflow box as well and the tubing.
