I'm looking to upgrade my current coralife skimmer, but really don't want to spend $200 -$300. Anyone local out there with a Good skimmer they'd be willing to part with for a fair price?

Cory I have an urchin pro. Small footprint skimmer, would that be an upgrade? Its in very good condition. Im not familiar with coralife skimmer.

The coralife skimmers are probably the cheapest out there. Pretty much crap. How many gallons is it rated for? Would you say that it makes really fine bubbles?

If I remember correctly it was rated for 90 or so. Its not a cone skimmer but it worked well for me for a long time.

I might spend around $130 to get a newer cone skimmer with a fancy impeller for super fine bubbles. we'll see. Definitely need the upgrade though. Thanks for the offer sir!

I bought one of th sca 302 skimmers rated for 180G. i think i paid $130 shipped. Im pretty happy with it but being as it was my first skimmmer I dont have much to compare it to. I pull out some pretty nast skimmate every few days so I think it is working :) i added an air valve to it so i can adjust the air intake as well as the water level. I am als ogoing to drill the skimmer cup so i can have it drain into a jug with out having to dump the cup every few days.

Hey not sure if you have looked at these but I bought a reef octopus skimmer rated for 100 gals that was about $175. I know it is edging your price point but I got mine from Steve at coralreefecosystemsdotcom. delivered to my door with warranty. I didn't want to have to worry about it failing on me. They are really good skimmers as well.
That being said for my one tank I found a used Euroreef skimmer at a fish store in the city for <$100 so deals are out there.
Good luck.

Nick, if you put it into jug, make sure it is airtight. This way, if you get a skimmer malfunction (like a plugged air inlet to skimmer when using a gate valve can cause skimmer cup to overflow. If your jug is open, can fill up your jug and water all over your ground.

It's rated for 180 gallons. I just looked for it and can't find it. I will have to look some more. I just stopped using it a month ago.
